We Believe
Clayton Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.
The Holy Scriptures
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible and accept the Holy Scriptures as the inspired Word of God and the foundation of our faith and practice.
The Triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary.
We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is presently at the right hand of the Father, where He serves as our Intercessor.

Salvation
We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We believe that God commands all people to repent and that repentance is necessary for the forgiveness of sins.
We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Sanctification
We believe in sanctification subsequent to the new birth, accomplished through faith in the blood of Christ, through the Word of God, and by the Holy Ghost.

Baptism in the Holy Ghost
We believe in the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
We believe that speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.

Water Baptism
We believe in water baptism by immersion. All who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Divine Healing
We believe that divine healing is provided for all in the atonement and that God continues to heal according to His Word and will.
The Lord's Supper & Foot Washing
We believe in observing the Lord's Supper and the washing of the saints' feet as biblical practices of the Church.
The Second Coming of Christ
We believe in the premillennial second coming of Jesus Christ.
First, we believe He will come to resurrect the righteous dead and catch away the living saints to meet Him in the air.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead.
